Running Overtime: Season Never Ends for Some

The start of the Pennsylvania College of Technology cross-country season is a few months away, but running is always on the mind of Wildcats coach Mike Paulhamus, who took time to note the recent accomplishments of several of his current and former runners:

  • Jeff Faherty, a junior landscape-nursery technology major from High Point, N.J., and Tamara Pavlov, a sophomorebusiness management major from Lewisburg,competed in the Boston Marathon on April 20. Faherty finished in 3 hours and 8 minutes and Pavlov in3:37.As a result of their times, bothrequalified for next year's Boston Marathon.
  • Mark Cordeiro, a sophomore ornamental horticulture: landscaping major from Canton and the No. 1 men's runner last fall, finished fourth in a field of more than 4,000 runners Sunday at the Lehigh Valley Half Marathon. Cordeiro's time was 1:15.
  • Molly Pritz, a former runner at Williamsport Area High School who now is a student at Bucknell University, ran the Broad Street 10-miler in Philadelphia on Sunday and finished 57th overall in a field of more than 23,000. Pritz was fourth out of more than 11,700 women. According to Paulhamus, she was one of the top American runners at the 13.1-mile Philadelphia Distance Run last September.
