Men's Basketball
The Wildcat men returned from a monthlong semester break and have poured on the offense in victories over Penn State DuBois and Penn State Greater Allegheny.

Against DuBois, Joe Simon (Renovo) scored a personal season-high 22 points, Craig Flint (Port Allegany) added 21 and Greg Solyak (Lancaster) scored 16.

Erica Logan, en route to a 17-point game against Penn State DuBois. Going into Saturday's home game against Greater Allegheny, Flint needed 18 points to crack the 1,000-point career scoring barrier. He finished with 24 as the Wildcats racked up their highest point total in at least six seasons. Penn College led 56-52 at the half, then exploded in the second half, reeling off 14 straight points and using a 2-1-2 trapping defense to turn the tide.

"Our transition game was just unbelievable. We looked like the Runnin' Rebels back in the day (in reference to UNLV's high-scoring offenses of a decade ago)," coach Gene Bruno said. "Flint stepped up big, like he has all year," Bruno continued. Flint joins his older brother, Tony, whose Penn College career ended in 2005-06, as a 1,000-point scorer. Tony finished with 1,043 points. Also scoring in double digits against Greater Allegheny were Solyak with 22, Simon with 19, Leroy Joiner (Williamsport) with 16, and Tom Little (Beacon Falls, Conn.) and Jim McCarthy (Douglassville) with 12 each.

Women's Basketball
In their return following the semester break, the Penn College women rolled against Penn State DuBois. Erica Logan (Montoursville) led the team with 17 points and Chelsey Holmes (Hughesville) added 12.

To finish the week, the Wildcats improved to 5-1 in Penn State University Athletic Conference play with a win over Penn State Greater Allegheny. Logan led the scoring punch with 27 points, Kelsey Mack (Douglassville) added 22 and Holmes 14.
