Crime Alert: Robberies in the City of Williamsport

Since Aug. 22, there have been five armed robberies in Williamsport. The robberies have occurred in the 1200 block of Park Avenue, the 500 block of Fifth Avenue, the 1900 block of West Fourth Street, the 400 block of Washington Boulevard and the 1000 block of Park Avenue. The victims all have been walking or standing along sidewalks or streets. None of the robberies has involved Pennsylvania College of Technology students or employees.

The Penn College Police issue Crime Alerts so that students, faculty and staff can be alerted to potentially dangerous situations on and around campus and take appropriate precautions. The warnings are issued when the situation is considered to represent a serious or continuing threat to students and employees.

All students, faculty and staff should be alert for suspicious persons and potentially dangerous situations on and off campus. Penn College Police continue to work with the Williamsport Bureau of Police and city officials to improve safety off campus. All crimes should be reported immediately to the police.
