In observance of the Environmental Week leading up to the April 22 observance of "Earth Day," Penn College Police Chief Chris Miller encourages college departments and employees to carpool. The chief said one officer each shift will be assigned to foot patrol instead of a vehicle next week, saving about four gallons of gasoline per shift. That translates to saving 84 gallons of gasoline and reduced emissions during the week, Chief Miller said.
