Alumnus Establishes Scholarship in Memory of Late Wife
A Pennsylvania College of Technology alumnus has established a memorial scholarship to benefit diesel technology students at the college.
Harold Sinclair, president of Woolever Brothers Transportation Inc., Montoursville, established the $1,000 annual scholarship in memory of his late wife, Hazel.
Harold Sinclair graduated with a degree in heavy construction equipment from Williamsport Area Community College, a Penn College predecessor institution, in 1973. Hazel Sinclair, who died in January 2001, assisted with the operation of the transportation business.
Beginning with the 2005-06 academic year, the Hazel Sinclair Memorial Scholarship will provide an annual award to a second-year student enrolled full time in Penn College's diesel technology associate-degree major.
The college's director of financial aid will select the recipient from applicants who demonstrate academic performance and financial need. Applications must be filed in accordance with the college's procedures and processes. The award may be used to defray the costs of tuition, fees, books, tools, other required instructional supplies or other eligible expenses.
