Nearly 900 Penn College Students Petition to Graduate in May

Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold two commencement ceremonies May 14 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport for the nearly 900 students who have petitioned to graduate this month.
Ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. for graduates from the Schools of Industrial and Engineering Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, and Business and Computer Technologies and at 2 p.m. for graduates from the Schools of Construction and Design Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology.
The student speaker for the morning ceremony will be Jennifer R. Brinkley of RR 1 Worthington, who will graduate with a bachelor's degree in welding and fabrication engineering technology.
The student speaker for the afternoon ceremony will be April J. Bevans of Bloomsburg, who will graduate with an associate's degree in landscape/nursery technology.
At the ceremonies, the college will present the Master Teacher Award − the highest level of recognition conferred upon a faculty member − and two Excellence in Teaching Awards. Also to be presented are Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna and Alumnus/Alumna Achievement Awards.
Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour and Penn College Board of Directors' Chairman Robert E. Dunham.
The ceremonies will be broadcast live in the Williamsport area on SusCom (the local cable TV provider) Channel 2, beginning at 10 a.m.
