Automotive Professor Receives Master Certification From Toyota

Leonard R. FilipkowskiLeonard R. Filipkowski, associate professor of collision repair in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Transportation Technology, has received a Master Certified Technician award from Toyota's Collision Repair and Refinish Certification Program.

The Picture Rocks resident has instructed in collision repair and refinishing for almost 32 years. He presently teaches collision estimating, as well as introductory courses.

Master status is achieved after at least five years as a Certified Technician. Certification is in seven areas of training and work, plus I-CAR (an international, not-for-profit training organization) training in Collision Repair 3000 and I-CAR Finish Matching.

Courses are Introduction to Lexus, Non-Structural Body Repair, Structural Body Repair, SC-430 Collision Repair Techniques, Prius (Toyota's hybrid electric car) Collision Repair, Color Matching for Painters, and Advanced Painting Techniques.
