Penn College Has 11 Winners at State SkillsUSA-VICA Competition

Eleven Pennsylvania College of Technology students took first place in their competitions at the Pennsylvania SkillsUSA-VICA Conference, held April 17-19 in Altoona.
The winners now are eligible to compete at the SkillsUSA Championships - a showcase for the best career and technical students in the nation June 27 in Kansas City, Mo.
SkillsUSA-VICA is a national organization serving 250,000 high-school and college students and professional members in training programs for technical, skilled, health and service occupations.
The Penn College winners are: Michael A. Bigelow, Altoona, Related Technical Math; Jennifer R. Brinkley, Worthington, Extemporaneous Speaking; Christopher C. Clugston, Slatington, Electronics Applications; James N. Colton, Canton, Welding; Nicholas J. Ensig, Levittown, Residential Plumbing; William J. Frick, Westline, Precision Machining; Ryan Garner, Spring City, Collision Repair; Joshua W. Hunsberger, Pottstown, Technical Drafting; Ronnie L. Kiefer, Millville, Nurse Assisting; Mark A. Kuhns, Millmont, Diesel Technology; and Bruce A. Stephens, Curwensville, Electronics Technology.
Penn College students who took second place in their competitions are: Raul Guzman, Teaneck, N.J., Auto Service Technology; Jeremy S. Kunkel, Kutztown, Architectural Drafting; and Jeremy C. Rice, Landisburg, Carpentry.
Penn College students who finished third in their competitions are: Aaron T. Giovanni, Nazareth, Masonry; and the team of Christopher B. Israel, New Bloomfield; Colin G. McGrath, Warren; and Brent K. Oberholtzer, Elizabethtown, Automated Manufacturing Technology.
The faculty advisers for the Penn College SkillsUSA-VICA student competitors are Edward L. Roadarmel, assistant professor of drafting and CAD technology; Dale J. Kissinger Jr., instructor of HVAC technology/plumbing and heating; and Larry B. Leavitt, associate professor of automotive technology.
