Recruitment Practices

Penn College will not use unfair, deceptive, and abusive recruiting practices and will refrain from “high-pressure” recruitment tactics such as making multiple unsolicited contacts (3 or more), including contacts by phone, email, or in-person, and engaging in same-day recruitment and registration for the purpose of securing Service member enrollments.

Using Military Tuition Assistance at Penn College

Service members should speak with their Educational Services Officer (ESO) at their unit/command prior to enrolling at Penn College. Each service has unique requirements that must be met and/or completed prior to or as part of the Military Tuition Assistance (TA) application process. These will be discussed by your chain of command and/or your ESO.

Once you have spoken with your ESO, you will apply for TA through your service:

Navy, Marines, Coast Guard

Must be approved TWO WEEKS before class start date.

All Services

Once your TA has been approved by your command, you will receive a voucher that details the cost of your classes that your service will pay. This voucher should be delivered to the Penn College Veteran Service office.

Return Policy for Military Tuition Assistance Funds

Penn College has a policy that returns any unearned Military Tuition Assistance (TA) funds on a proportional basis through the 60 percent portion of the period for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based upon when a student stops attending. In instances when a Service member stops attending due to a military service obligation, Penn College will work with the affected Service member to identify solutions that will not result in a student debt for the returned portion.

Time student stopped attending % of course, completed % of TA funds returned to branch
Before day one of course 0% 100%
On or after the first day of the course >0% <100%
On the day that exactly 60% of course days are complete 60% 40%
On the day after 60% of course days are completed >60.0% 0%
