How are Pennsylvania College of Technology refunds delivered to students?

Each student will receive a Personal Code from BankMobile Disbursements. Your code will arrive in the mail at your home address on file with Penn College. To receive your refund, you must go to the BankMobile Disbursement website, login using your Personal Code, and choose how to receive your refund money.

What kinds of money might I receive from Penn College?

The most common type of money Penn College refunds to students are funds left over from financial aid awards, loans, or grants after tuition has been paid. Students receiving these funds have usually requested this additional support to help with books and living expenses. Other types of money may include reimbursement for tuition deposits, dropped classes, on-campus housing security deposits, and meal plan refunds.

Why am I getting a Personal Code from BankMobile?

You will use your Personal Code to make your refund selection at the BankMobile Disbursement website.

How will I get a Personal Code?

You will receive your Personal Code in the mail at your primary address on file with Penn College. Just look for the bright green envelope and please make sure your address is up-to-date.

When should I expect to receive my Personal Code?

Personal Codes for new students will be mailed by BankMobile Disbursements following attendance of their Summer Connections session. Personal Codes for all other students who have not previously received one will not be mailed until after they have registered (paid) for their semester's classes.

What if I do not receive my BankMobile Personal Code in the mail?

You may visit the Bursar's Office/Student Accounts in the Student & Administrative Services Center, Room 2098. They can issue an Instant Personal Code directly to you.

How do I make a refund selection?

Once you go to the BankMobile Disbursement website, you enter your Personal Code to gain access to make your refund choice. On the website, you choose your own username and password to protect your information. Once logged into this site, you can make your refund choice, set personal preferences, view your refund status, and much more.

What are my options for receiving student refunds?

All students are required to have their refunds direct deposited to a bank account. Your options include having your refund:

  1. Deposited to a bank account of your choice (2 – 3 business days).
  2. Directly deposited to your BankMobile Vibe account (same day).

What is the BankMobile Vibe account?

The Vibe Account is a non-interest bearing, online checking account, serviced by BankMobile Disbursements. It's exclusively designed for college students with features that support a mobile lifestyle, equipped with security features like cash deposit limits and cash withdrawal limits, offering money available the same day it's released by Penn College.
If you choose to open a Vibe Account, you will receive a BankMobile Vibe Debit MasterCard®. It is not a credit card but rather a Debit MasterCard® linked to your Vibe Account.

How is my money delivered?

Delivery of refund money is a multi-step process. First, Penn College draws funds from the respective loan and/or grant provider and applies it to your student account. Once this information is verified, any excess funds are sent to BankMobile Disbursements within 10 business days. Once the specific refund information is received at BankMobile Disbursements, it is processed and disbursed according to your selection.

Can I change my preference for receiving money from Penn College?

Yes. Just log in to your BankMobile Vibe Account and select "Refund Preferences" from the "Refund" menu option. Once on the page, simply make your new selection and click the "Update Preference" button to complete the process. Be aware that your new selection will only impact future money you receive from Penn College.

How will I know when my money has been sent?

BankMobile Disbursements will send you an email to the address you entered during setup. You can also view the status on the BankMobile Vibe website.

When am I getting a Vibe card?

If you make your refund preference selection and choose the Vibe account, a card will be mailed to you for use as a Debit MasterCard® linked to your Vibe Account.

Do I need to activate my Personal Code even if I think I will not receive a refund?

Yes, it is recommended that you activate your code and select a refund option even if you think you will not receive a refund. Remember, the following types of refunds will be sent through BankMobile Disbursements:

  • Financial Aid and student loans
  • Tuition (if you drop a course within the refund timeframe or decide not to attend)
  • Declining Balance Meal Plans
  • Housing Security Deposits

What will happen to my refund if I don't activate my Personal Code?

BankMobile Disbursements will not be able to send your refund to you. Regardless of whether or not you anticipate that you will receive a refund, it is important to activate your personal code and choose a refund preference.

Note: If your refund contains Title IV funds (federal grants and loans), Federal law now requires BankMobile Disbursements to issue a paper check to your home address if you have not made a refund choice within 21 days from the time BankMobile Disbursements receives your refund for distribution. Not activating your Personal Code and making a refund choice means it will take about one month to receive your refund check in the mail.

Can I select a paper check?

No, all refunds will be issued by direct deposit either to a bank account of your choice or your BankMobile Vibe account.

Where can I use my Debit MasterCard®?

You can use your BankMobile Vibe Card to make purchases anywhere MasterCard® is accepted.

Will I be charged a fee for using my BankMobile Vibe Card to purchase merchandise?

Please note there is not a fee associated with each PIN-based transaction (see fee schedule) but we strongly recommend the use of your BankMobile Vibe Card in 'credit' mode. 'Credit' mode requires you to swipe the card and sign your receipt. It will guarantee that your purchases will be insured by MasterCard.

Will I be charged a fee for using the First National Bank ATM in the Bush Campus Center?

The FNB Bank ATM will not charge you a fee when you use your BankMobile Vibe Card. However, BankMobile Disbursements will charge your account a "Foreign ATM Transaction" fee (see fee schedule) for using an ATM that is not part of the Allpoint ATM Network.

Where can I get cash using my BankMobile Vibe Card and not be charged a fee?

You may use your BankMobile Vibe card fee free at the ATM outside the College Store in the Bush Campus Center. You may also get cash fee free at any of the 55,000 Allpoint ATMs world-wide. Allpoint ATMs can be found locally at Wegmans, CVS stores, Sunoco A+ convenience stores and many other locations. Visit the Allpoint Network to find an ATM near you.

I have a PCT OneCard from Higher One, what should I do?

You do not need to make any changes. Higher One is now operating under a new owner, BankMobile Disbursements. The PCT OneCard and PCT OneAccount operate the same as they did in the past, just with new names, BankMobile Vibe and the Vibe Account. You will not receive a new card unless yours is reported as lost or stolen or reaches the expiration date. You also now have free access to the Allpoint ATM network. (See previous question)

How will my parents receive their Parent PLUS refunds?

Any refund resulting from Parent Plus loans will be mailed by Penn College directly to your parents in the form of a paper check. Parents do not have Penn College accounts and their refunds cannot be processed through BankMobile Disbursements.
