During the Central Susquehanna Association for the Education of Young Children's annual conference, held March 31 on Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus, the group named a Lycoming/Clinton Head Start teacher and Penn College alumna its "2007 Outstanding Early Educator." Five Pennsylvania College of Technology students earned gold medals at the recent Pennsylvania SkillsUSA Conference, qualifying them for national competition from June 26-29 in Kansas City, Mo. They were among the 12 Penn College competitors who returned with medals from the statewide competition, which was held March 28-30 at the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute in Allentown.
Students enrolled in "Theories of Personality and Psychotherapy"stand in front of the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, where they ventured Saturday to view the current exhibit titled "Home & Beast." The museum, in operation since 1995, features the works of self-taught artists, many of whom struggled with psychological maladies at some time in their lives.

Penn College's Act 101 program held its annual Recognition Dinner in Penn's Inn on Thursday evening to celebrate the 2007 Act 101 graduating students. Five of the graduates were in attendance, including Angela Mayo, a graduating Act 101 student leader (center in photo at far left), who was the guest speaker for the evening's event.
It was a long, but successful night for the Penn College Dance-a-Thon, which raised a total of $1,698.36 for the American Cancer Society. Three student organizations the Student Government Association, Residence Hall Association and Wildcat Events Board sponsored the 12-hour "Dance for Hope" that began at 6 p.m. Friday.
Twenty-six Pennsylvania College of Technology students were inducted Saturday into the Pennsylvania Xi Chapter of Alpha Chi, a national honor society for baccalaureate students. Membership in Alpha Chi is open to bachelor-degree students from all academic disciplines and is limited to the top 10 percent of an institution's junior and senior classes.
Pennsylvania College of Technology students used Lycoming County Big Read's featured novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird," by Harper Lee, as their muse for book jacket designs that both fill course requirements and adorn area Big Read venues.
