On Thursday, April 16, the Cisco Networking Academy at Penn College will host the Cisco Systems Network On Wheels. The Cisco NOW is a 25-foot van equipped with the latest Cisco networking technologies. This unique showcase provides hands-on demonstrations of proven integrated networking solutions that are customizable to any business size and needs.

In a lecture at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Feb. 9, a renowned Maya archaeologist will discuss the Maya calendar and the notion that the ancient civilization predicted the end of time. The lecture, titled "December 23, 2012: The End of Maya Time?" will be offered free to the public at 7 p.m.

Boiled down, attitude and teamwork are the essentials for a successful season, according to Pennsylvania College of Technology men's volleyball coach Wes Strayer. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, in which Pennsylvania College of Technology students prepare income-tax returns at no cost, will offer three Fridays of by-appointment-only help to Northern Tier residents this season. The first meeting of the Marcellus Shale Industry Partnership, formed to address the natural-gas industry's workforce needs in conjunction with the exploration of potential gas reserves within the region's Marcellus Shale formation, was held Monday on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus.

The Gallery at Penn College will offer a free, hands-on printmaking demonstration from 1:30-3 p.m. Friday in conjunction with the exhibit, "60x60: Small Prints from Purdue University Galleries." A student assistant will demonstrate the technique of relief printing and offer attendees the opportunity to make a print from a woodcut block that has been pre-carved.

The exhibition, "60 x 60: Small Prints From Purdue University Galleries," runs through Feb. 3 on the third floor of the Madigan Library.
