Pennsylvania College of Technology's Board of Directors onThursday approved an Operating Budget of $60,274,868 and established tuition rates and related fees for the upcoming 2002-03 academic year. The Operating Budget is an increase of $4,409,447 (7.9 percent) over the current year.

The Community Arts Center Board of Governors has honored Pennsylvania College of Technology Senior Vice President Dr. William J. Martin with a "Vision Award" for his efforts in the renovation of the Arts Center and his ongoing support of the facility.

The opening ceremonies for Special Olympics Pennsylvania's 2002 Summer Games were enhanced by the addition of a cauldron and torch designed and built by faculty and students at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Thirty area teen-agers will receive hands-on training and gain knowledge of career fields ranging from carpentry to computer-aided drafting in the Summer Youth Career Awareness Program, to be offered in July and August at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Eleven freshman students enrolled for the Fall 2002 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology have been designated "Presidential Scholars," an honor awarded for academic excellence and service to school and community.
