The Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association awarded a $2,200 grant recently to Pennsylvania College of Technology for use in the College's Landscape/Nursery Technology program.

A national professional regulatory organization has renewed the registration of Pennsylvania College of Technology's bachelor-degree minor and competency credential in Financial Planning for five years each. The renewed registration from the Board of Examiners of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. will run until Jan. 31, 2009.

Business faculty member Phillip D. Landers will present a program entitled "The Ins and Outs of Financial Aid: Practical Information and Examples" on Wednesday, March 3, at the Pennsylvania College of Technology Library. The presentation by Landers, a professor of business administration in the School of Business and Computer Technologies, will be offered from 5 to 6 p.m.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania to further develop a Factory Built Housing Center at the College. The grant will be used to strengthen workforce development and incorporate research results into training initiatives for industry.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association have agreed to extend their current labor contract through 2006-07. The Penn College Board of Directors approved the extension the second one enacted for an agreement that initially was approved in August 2000. A previous extension was ratified in February 2002.

Dr. D. Robert Cooley, assistant professor of anthropology/environmental science at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will present a program entitled "Applying Ecological Anthropology: Studying the Ecological Knowledge of Commercial Blue Crab Fishermen" on Tuesday, March 2, at the College Library.
