Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week held its fourth and final summer session at Pennsylvania College of Technology July 28 to Aug. 2. More than 300 young high school juniors and seniors attended the engaging event, the signature program of the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education. The youth leadership gathering provides a hands-on, practical way for students to immerse themselves in the world of business and gain a sense of their entrepreneurial talents.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented a Distinguished Alumni Award to Michael Wert, of New Hope, during its Summer 2024 commencement ceremony, held Aug. 3, at the Community Arts Center. A Williamsport native, Wert is the retired CEO of DiMark Inc., a marketing services company he co-founded in Langhorne, which became a national leader in data-driven integrated marketing, with an emphasis on insurance and health care.
Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented student achievement awards to its Summer 2024 graduates. A commencement ceremony was held Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. Penn College is a special mission affiliate of Penn State.

The National Hardwood Lumber Association celebrated the 206th graduating class of its Inspector Training School on Friday at Penn College’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center. The eight-week course – usually offered in Tennessee – took place for the first time in Penn College’s facilities. Among those addressing the graduates were Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russell E. Redding, NHLA Executive Director Dallin Brooks and Penn College President Michael J. Reed.
