Pennsylvania College of Technology conducted its annual Employee Recognition Week during the week of May 10. A highlight was a special reception honoring recipients of the Distinguished Staff and Part-Time Teaching Excellence Awards, new members of the College's Quarter Century Club, and retirees.

The highest level of College recognition for faculty, the "Master Teacher Award," was presented to Brett A. Reasner, associate professor of aviation.
Mary Ann Johnson, Cogan Station, has earned an exceptional honor in the legal community. Johnson, a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has successfully completed the Certified Legal Assistant examination and is now entitled to use the "CLA" professional credential. She is among 61 legal assistants in the state and 9,594 nationwide who have reached this goal.

For the first time, Pennsylvania College of Technology is home to a four-year honor society. Twenty-four Penn College students were recently inducted into Alpha Chi, a national honor society for baccalaureate degree students. Also at the event, the College's chapter of Alpha Chi, the Pennsylvania Xi Chapter, was inaugurated by Robert W. Sledge, president of the Alpha Chi National Council.
State Sen. Jake Corman and Lycoming County District Attorney Thomas Marino will provide keynote addresses at Pennsylvania College of Technology's two commencement exercises on Saturday, May 15. The ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. Corman, a 1990 graduate of the College, will speak in the morning.
Veteran PGA Tour member Greg Twiggs will be the featured player for the 13th annual Spring Golf Classic hosted by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Foundation. The event, set for Monday, May 10, at the Williamsport Country Club, is a fundraiser supporting scholarships for Penn College students.
