It pays to be close to the action. That’s a common experience for students and faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Lumley Aviation Center at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville. On Tuesday, the college’s “aviation crew” enjoyed an up-close view of a Goodyear “blimp” (technically an airship).

Pennsylvania College of Technology has named veteran educator Ali L. Lorson as assistant dean of transportation technologies. Lorson comes to Penn College from the Mifflinburg Area School District, where she served as nontraditional education coordinator. The Penn College Baja SAE team hopes to build on past success when it concludes the 2024 season this week at Baja SAE Michigan (Sept. 12-15). Penn College will compete against 84 teams representing colleges from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

The Gallery at Penn College reminds the campus community and public of two opportunities to hear from accomplished illustrator Brian Lutz, a Penn College advertising art graduate. On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Lutz will deliver a 3:30 p.m. lecture in Penn’s Inn, on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center, and a 5:30 p.m. artist's talk in the gallery, on the third floor of The Madigan Library. The gallery talk will occur during a reception (set for 5 to 6 p.m.) celebrating Lutz's "Full Circle" exhibit.
A Pennsylvania College of Technology freshman welding student has received two scholarships from the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut. Josiah A. Hinojos, of Groton, Connecticut, received the Skip Thavenet and John Boyle Memorial scholarships. He is seeking a bachelor’s degree in in welding & fabrication engineering technology.
