Students at Pennsylvania College of Technology return this spring to the kitchen of the College's fine-dining restaurant, where, as part of their course work, many will spend a shift at the helm as a student manager. On Fridays at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, dinner is prepared by students in the Regional American Cuisine course offered by the College's School of Hospitality.

A group of Penn College students accepted the invitation to join Saturday's Mardi Gras Parade in Williamsport, adding to the colorfully costumed revelers that marchedon downtown streets. Matthew P. Branca, director of The College Store at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently earned the designation "Certified Collegiate Retailer." The credential, granted by the National Association of College Stores, has been earned by fewer than 10 percent of all eligible candidates. According to Brian E.

Tiffini L. Lanza recently received the high honor of being named Penn College?s "Resident Assistant of the Month." An Early Childhood Education major from Perkiomenville, Lanza serves as a Resident Assistant at the College West Apartment complex.

Faculty members in the nursing program at Pennsylvania College of Technology have established a scholarship to memorialize a colleague who died last year. Allyson Wilgar-Jones had been a nursing instructor in the School of Health Sciences at Penn College for about 10 years when she died in June 2004 after a two-month battle with an aggressive form of cancer. She was 45.

Brett A. Reasner, associate professor of aviation and the 1999 Master Teacher at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has accepted the position of chair-elect for College Council. "I am pleased with the chance to serve the College in this capacity. I look forward to working with colleagues currently serving in the Governance system and encouraging new members to join," he said.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and the National Exercise Trainers Association, a nonprofit fitness-professional organization, are co-sponsoring three nationally recognized workshops at the College in April.
