A man accused of a Tuesday assault of a Penn College student with whom he was acquainted was taken into custody by Penn College Police and the U.S. Marshal's office around 11 p.m. Wednesday at the Maryland/Pennsylvania border. David Smith was arraigned before a district justice and committed to the Lycoming County Prison.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "New Paintings," a collection of works by Judith Kalina, from Sept. 19 to Oct. 16. Kalina lives and works in New York City.
An educational display of American flags, tracing the progression from mere banner to majestic national symbol, is among the Constitution Week events scheduled at Pennsylvania College of Technology from Sept. 15-19. The College Store has announced the winners of the May College Store Buyback Promotion. The promotion was for student clubs and organizations to encourage their members and friends to recycle unwanted textbooks during the store's end-of-semester buyback.
