A global technology company is supporting Pennsylvania College of Technology by providing students with access to valuable industrial robot software. ABB Robotics, a leading robotics and machine automation supplier, has donated its RobotStudio software, valued at over $400,000. The software supports student learning within the School of Engineering Technologies.
Automation and electronics students at Pennsylvania College of Technology have a valuable new tool at their disposal, thanks to a partnership with a renowned industrial software provider. Canary, a Corporate Tomorrow Maker, has donated its Historian time-series database for industrial automation.
Pennsylvania College of Technology was again among the participating partners in Dream Week, which annually celebrates the passionate life and peaceful mission of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
A $134,000 gift from The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation of Harrisburg has increased the foundation’s total scholarship support to Pennsylvania College of Technology students to more than $3.7 million. Student recipients who meet selection criteria established by the college receive $5,000 per year – for up to four years – from the Stabler Scholarship Fund, the largest at the college.
A $5,000 grant from the PPL Foundation will support an event at Pennsylvania College of Technology to introduce high school students to opportunities in the building automation and electrical industries. Pathways to Energy Management Careers will comprise a series of four hands-on sessions that showcase facets of those occupations, with a focus on energy management.
The annual science festival for local children and their families is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Pennsylvania College of Technology Field House. The event is sponsored by Penn College, the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce and Lycoming College. Children at the 2022 Science Festival try their hand at maneuvering robots from VEX Robotics.
Bryan M. Bilbao, who earned a combined bachelor’s/master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Pennsylvania College of Technology in August, recently received a Thomas J. Lemley Award for Health Disparities from the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants. Award winners were announced Nov. 4 at the society’s annual conference in Pittsburgh.

Nearly 30 years ago, Eli M. Hughes was a disinterested high school student touring an electronics lab at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Today, he is a successful entrepreneur, powered by a passion sparked by his campus visit and subsequent education. The 2001 graduate is a self-described “full-stack problem-solver” with several electronics-rooted patents to his name.

Secor, who chaired the Penn College Board of Directors from 2012-13. Penn State's former vice provost for academic affairs, Secor joined the Penn College Board in 1998 and served until December 2016.
