About 1,015 seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade students from 11 schools and one home school participated in hands-on activities across campus Monday during Outreach for K-12’s semi-annual Career Day. Originally scheduled for March but postponed due to snow, the day offers younger students the opportunity to see a college campus while learning about a wide variety of careers.

PCToday continues its regular feature: welcoming new full-time and regular part-time Pennsylvania College of Technology employees, as reported by the Human Resources Office.

Each of the past three years, the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team has climbed a rung on the national ladder, placing fourth in 2008, third in 2009 and second a year ago. Going into the U.S. Intercollegiate championships Friday, Saturday and Sunday (May 20-21-22), its sights are on No. 1.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented student achievement awards to its Spring 2011 graduates. Nearly 950 students petitioned to graduate at the conclusion of the spring semester, and three commencement ceremonies were held May 13-14 at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. Penn College is a special mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University.

Veterans traditionally are recognized for their military service during Pennsylvania College of Technology commencement ceremonies. This year, the acknowledgement was enhanced by an addition to the graduating veterans' commencement-day apparel. Red-white-and-blue honor cords were added to the caps, gowns, stoles and other academic regalia worn by veterans in the Class of 2011.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented awards to four alumni of the institution during Spring 2011 commencement ceremonies held May 13-14 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Edward J. Two faculty members at Pennsylvania College of Technology were honored with teaching awards during commencement ceremonies held May 14 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. As part of the Distinguished Teaching Awards program, Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour presented 2011 Excellence in Teaching Awards to Michael J.

Spring Commencement exercises were held May 13-14 at Williamsport's Community Arts Center for nearly 950 students graduating from Pennsylvania College of Technology. Friday's 3 p.m. ceremony celebrated students from the schools of Construction and Design Technologies, and Health Sciences; the 10 a.m.

Pennsylvania College of Technologyon Friday presented a bachelor's degree posthumously to a 20-year-old student from Hellertown who died in a traffic accident last year. Tracy A. Garis was an active campus leader, enrolled in the college's dental hygiene program at the time of her death. She served as a Resident Assistant and Student Ambassador for the college.

Artistry, allegiance and an abiding spirit of community converged this week beneath Pennsylvania College of Technology's majestic 1,800-square-foot Old Glory, where the contributions of local residents helped ensure "Long may she wave." A community landmark since its installation in November 2000, the flag is maintained by a local committee that includes college Senior Vice President William J.
