Automotive instructors from a number of high schools and regional career and technology centers visited Penn College on Friday for training in the application of waterborne paint. Sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Tech Prep Consortium, the college and PPG Industries, the daylong event combined classroom lectures and hands-on experience in the College Avenue Labs paint laboratory.

A gallery talk and Meet the Artist Reception on Thursday officially opened "Floreal Stratum," a display of textile art by Meredith Setser, in The Gallery at Penn College. Setser's work features large installations primarily composed of handmade and industrial felts printed with traditional processes, such as etching, relief and screen printing.

Penn College sophomore Amanda Baney (Williamsport) and freshman Sabrina Reynolds (Muncy) were selected to the Penn State University Athletic Conference softball all-conference team, voted on by coaches based on play and statistics throughout the season. Baney hit .452 with seven home runs and 25 RBI, which led the team.

A local business leader has established an endowed scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology in memory of his father and in honor of his mother. Frank Pellegrino, executive vice president of PRIMUS Technologies Corp., Williamsport, recently made a gift to the Penn College Foundation to establish the John Joseph and Eva Girio Pellegrino Scholarship Fund.
