Friday’s “Centre County Report” featured a story on Penn College’s Transportation Scholars program. The weekly broadcast – produced by students in the capstone broadcast journalism course in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State – included an interview with Bradley M. Webb, dean of engineering technologies. Webb discussed the workforce needs in transportation-related industries and described how Transportation Scholars supports students interested in aviation, automotive, collision repair and diesel. Thanks to a National Science Foundation grant, Transportation Scholars provides up to $10,000 annually for eligible students.

“Centre County Reports” airs on WPSU and can be seen on YouTube. The broadcast also streams throughout Pennsylvania as the result of partnerships with KDKA-TV (Pittsburgh), KYW-TV (Philadelphia) and WNEP-TV (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre).

The Penn College story begins at 6 minutes, 45 seconds.
