A Mississippi-born legend is celebrated.A catered feast satisfies the soul ...... while informational posters feed the mind.The Bush Campus Center pool tables are always an attraction, no matter the event."At Last," some recognition for the iconic Etta JamesThe birth of the "juke joint" was celebrated in a Black History Month event sponsored by the Student Engagement Office on Feb. 22 in CC Commons. The evening featured educational displays about those who were instrumental in the creation of blues and jazz music, the history of the blues, and the invention of a phenomenon. There was also soul food from UpTop Cuisine, a curated playlist filled with music from the featured artists and a trivia contest. Three students won $50 gift cards to The College Store!
