'Winnie' for the win!

    The first to arrive is Lauryn A. Stauffer, an automation engineering technology: robotics and automation major, who was rewarded with a smooch ...... and a shake (even as Winnie cased the room for her next human encounter). Stauffer, of Bath, is also a college relations assistant and a Wildcat Events Board team leader.Winnie displays patience and obedience, waiting for the signal to snag a treat from Potts.Delivering some stress relief to help Penn College students endure the exam-heavy dash to semester break, the ever-huggable Winnie owned the floor of the Student Leadership and Organization Center (Bush Campus Center, Room 151) on Monday afternoon.

    The visit from the golden retriever, accompanied by Drew R. Potts, assistant professor of civil engineering technology, was among the "Finals Week Freebies" arranged by the Office of Student Engagement.

    The center of attention centers her attention.Lured from down the hall by a friendly bark, Abigail Grove, of Spring Mills, stopped by to get acquainted. Grove, a forest technology student, is an information desk assistant in the CC.Getting down to floor level for a canine connection is T.J. Gilbert, of Blairsville, a resident assistant and residential construction technology and management student.Winnie, who turned 3 on Thanksgiving, is no stranger to delivering therapeutic understanding to a campus audience. She has been a regular at Counseling Services' "Hot Dog, You're Here!" event, held to assist first-year students – particularly pet owners homesick for their pooches' companionship – transition to college life.
