Jennifer R. WahlLion Legacy PodcastA podcast sharing the compelling professional and personal journeys of Penn State alumni has engaged Jennifer R. Wahl, a Pennsylvania College of Technology social sciences instructor, in a wide-ranging conversation highlighting her teaching experiences and philosophies.

Wahl, who earned her Master of Education in educational leadership from Penn State in 2012, is featured on a recent 40-minute episode of the Lion Legacy Podcast. Found on all major platforms and at LionLegacyPodcast.com, the series is hosted by 2004 Penn State graduates Jared Melzer and Ross Weisbrot.

During her interview, the 2018 Pennsylvania State Teacher of the Year shares her focus on relationship-building in the classroom and the community, as well as the inspirations behind her career path and her ever-evolving enthusiasm for her profession. Wahl also discusses the challenges and opportunities of teaching during the COVID-19 outbreak. (She taught full time at Loyalsock Township High School at the start of the pandemic in the spring of 2020 before shifting to full-time faculty employment at Penn College starting in Fall 2020.)

An avid traveler who has visited 49 U.S. states and approximately 50 countries, the educator underscores her devotion to world history and global culture with anecdotes including her love of cooking international cuisine and belief that "when you break bread, you can break borders, and it builds community amongst people."

The Lion Legacy Podcast hosts also question Wahl on her recommendations for additions to high school courses, her advice to parents and other educators, and her favorite Penn State memories.
