Ryan Palmer to Be Visiting Pro for 2016 Annual Golf Classic

PGA Tour professional Ryan Palmer will be the visiting pro for the 2016 Penn College Foundation Golf Classic, to be held Monday, June 20, at the Williamsport Country Club.

Proceeds from the annual event, now in its 30th year, benefit the Penn College Foundation Golf Classic Scholarship, a quasi-endowed scholarship fund exceeding $1 million. More than $600,000 has been awarded from the fund since 1990. Fisher Mining Co. is the title sponsor for this year’s Golf Classic.

Ryan Palmer, visiting pro for the 2016 Penn College Foundation Golf Classic Palmer, winner of three PGA Tour events, will conduct a clinic in the morning and play a portion of one hole with each foursome. He will speak briefly at a players-only lunch and again later at a reception and dinner at Penn College for the players and guests.

Palmer turned pro in 2000 after graduating from Texas A&M University. His first full year on the PGA Tour was 2004. His tour victories include the 2010 Sony Open, the 2008 Ginn sur Mer Classic and the 2004 FUNAI Classic. He has eight career runner-up and 43 top 10 finishes. While on the Web.com Tour, he won the 2003 Clearwater Classic.

Blasting out of the bunker during this year's Sony Open in HonoluluHe completed the 2015 season ranked 38th in the FedExCup standings, taking home $1.97 million in prize money. His lifetime winnings on tour total nearly $20 million.

Palmer established the Ryan Palmer Foundation in January 2004. The organization has provided significant support to the Children’s Hospital of Northwest Texas Healthcare System while also offering college and golf scholarships.

Palmer and his wife, Jennifer, have two children and reside in Amarillo, Texas.
