College Hosts Increasingly Popular SkillsUSA Competition

    The various categories in Friday's competition among high school students reflected the skills imparted every day on Penn College's campuses, from collision repair ...... to heating, ventilation and air conditioning ...... to hospitality ...... to manufacturing ...... and, in this team contest, construction carpentry.Nearly 300 regional high school students competed in 35 skill and 18 leadership contests as Penn College hosted the SkillsUSA District 6 competition Friday. First-place winners in those events, held in a variety of campus labs and other locations,  will advance to the Pennsylvania Leadership and Skills Championships (April 13-15) at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. The event has grown from 68 students in 2013 to this year's total of 281 students and 35 high school advisers.
