Region's Students to Perform 'Oklahoma!' at CAC This Weekend

The first-ever Student Summer Stock production at the Community Arts Center will be the classic musical, "Oklahoma!" with three performances: at 7:30 p.m. on July 24-25 and a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on July 26.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set standards and established rules of musical theater still being followed. It is only fitting that this timeless production be the first of many for the newly developed Student Summer Stock with the cast comprised of local students ages 12-18 from across the region.
Chock full of classic tunes such as “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’” and “People Will Say We’re in Love,” the production will thrill audiences young and old. Tickets are on sale now at the CAC for $10 for adults and $5 for students, thanks to the show sponsors Hudock Capital Group, LLC; Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts, Charline Pulizzi and Family and Yoder Insurance.

"'Oklahoma!' is the quintessential classic American musical theater model. The energy of incredibly talented students from around the region, coupled with the experience and talent of a highly motivated production team, equals a Broadway-quality event with ridiculously affordable ticket prices! “The students and production team have come together in a magical way to create an experience that everyone will be talking about for some time to come. 'Oklahoma!' is a show that is ‘done often…but not often done well.' The Student Summer Stock production of 'Oklahoma!' is not only done well…it is memorable.”
