Grammy-Winning Switchfoot to Perform in Centennial Concert

The Grammy Award-winning band Switchfoot will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in Pennsylvania College of Technology's Bardo Gymnasium.

Touring in support of its recent release, “Fading West,” the million-selling quintet will appear as part of the college's yearlong Centennial celebration. The Kopecky Family Band, indie rockers from Nashville, Tenn., will open the show.

General-admission tickets are $20 each and are available at the Bush Campus Center Information Desk and online. (Students are entitled to one free ticket each with presentation of their Penn College ID.)



SwitchfootFormed in 1996 in San Diego, Switchfoot comprises Jon Foreman (lead vocals and guitar), Tim Foreman (bass guitar and backup vocals), Chad Butler (percussion), Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboard and backup vocals) and Drew Shirley (guitar and backup vocals).

The group gained recognition in Christian music before stepping out into mainstream rock when its song "Dare You to Move" was featured in the Mandy Moore film, “A Walk to Remember.” Switchfoot won a Grammy in 2011 for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album for “Hello Hurricane”; “Fading West” is the band's ninth studio release.
