Scholarship Awarded to Penn College Collision Repair Graduate

A May alumnus of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s collision repair technology major is one of only four students nationally to receive a scholarship in a fifth annual industry competition.
Aaron C. Dressler, of Mount Pleasant Mills, was awarded a $2,000 CCC Michael Salvatore Memorial Student Repair Technician Scholarship presented by the Collision Repair Education Foundation and CCC Information Services.
The scholarship, renamed in 2007 to honor a longtime member of the CCC team, rewards superior academic achievement by its recipients.
“Aaron continues to make us proud through his growth as a student and his recognition by industry for his accomplishments,” said Colin W. Williamson, dean of transportation technology.
Penn College’s collision repair technology program is centered around one of the oldest continuing automotive-repair programs and, in College Avenue Labs, one of the best-equipped laboratories in the United States. The School of Transportation Technology offers associate degrees in collision repair technology and, beginning this fall, automotive restoration technology. Students also can receive a certificate as a collision repair technician.
Penn College is on a short list of schools designated in 2005 by CCC Information Services Inc. to share in automotive collision-repair training and education scholarships to assist deserving students pursuing careers in the industry.
Dressler – a recent collision repair medalist in national SkillsUSA competition – is employed by Bud Godek Auto Body in Middleburg and is working on a 1956 Packard Clipper that he bought last winter.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped me over the years,” he said of the collision repair department. “Without them, I would not be as far as I am today.”
