College's School of Health Sciences Hosts Preceptors' In-Service

Penn College's School of Health Sciences hosted 110 participants at its annual preceptor eventFriday in Penn's Inn. The event which offers continuing education credits to those who attend, is part of the school's "thank you" for the health professionals who work closely with students while they are educated at clinical and fieldwork sites. The featured speaker was Richard Dowell Jr., clinical director of the Children's Development Center in Williamsport, who presented a session titled "Neuropsychiatric Perspectives of Cognitive Processing and Emotional Disorders." Dowell presented the Lurian and Tri-une models of neuropsychology and considerations for interventions based on those models. Dowell holds a doctorate in clinical neuropsychology from the University of Houston and founded Neuropsychological Services at Clear Vision and Evangelical Community Hospital. Photos by Cletus G.
