Gene Yaw (right) and Nick Troutman, executive director of the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee The effect on the local housing market from the natural gas industry and recent flooding was the subject of a state Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee hearing, convened Tuesday morning at Penn College's Thompson Professional Development Center. The committee, chaired by Sen. Gene Yaw (also a member of the college's board of directors) heard testimony from representatives of the City of Williamsport, The Center for Rural Pennsylvania, the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, the Industrial Properties Corp., the Lycoming County Housing Authority, the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, Halliburton, the Lycoming County United Way and The Yoder Group real estate developers.
