Byerly, Penn College's director of athleticsThe sixth annual Women In Sports Day was held Sunday, as current and prospective Penn College female athletes, coaches, athletic staff and campus administrators gathered in Penn's Inn for an inspirational address by featured speaker Lindsey K. Fackler. The 2010 graduate and member of the Wildcat archery team from 2006-10 spoke about the risk that she took when trying out for the archery team as a freshman. In her speech, she admitted that she never really shot a bow certainly not competitively until joining the team. She recounted some struggles through the years, but related many more successes: She graduated as a three-time All-American, with lifelong memories of being a member of the college's archery squad. Each coach spoke a little about his or her players, records and accomplishments; some recapped their just-ended seasons, while others spoke of their hoped-for winning seasons freshly under way.
