Greek Week 2009

Greek Week began with formal expansion of the Pennsylvania College of Technology community to include two sororities – Alpha Sigma Alpha and Sigma Sigma Sigma, both of which held bid days on Aug. 30. The women selected their respective organizations and, amid a festive atmosphere that night in Penn's Inn, celebrated their new memberships. The following evening, Penn College's first group of sorority sisters joined members of the Phi Mu Delta, Sigma Nu, Chi Phi and Sigma Pi fraternities who began their own recruitment efforts through a Grillin' With the Greeks barbecue. Cookouts were held Aug. 31 at each of the on-campus residence halls, open to all students as part of the three-week PC3 program to start the semester and encourage campus involvement. A number of other activities were scheduled throughout Greek Week, including Sports Night at the Field House and Pack the Park Night at Bowman Field, as sororities and fraternities alike fill their 2009-10 calendar with a variety of fun and beneficial campus and community-service events.
