College Helps Pay Tribute at Red Cross 'Heroes Breakfast'

Representatives of Penn College Police, Student Health Services and Student Affairs were among the attendees at Wednesday's first American Red Cross "Heroes Breakfast" at T.G.I. Friday's in Loyalsock Township. The college was a sponsor of the event, which publicly honored nominated residents of Clinton, Lycoming or Tioga counties who "put their own needs aside in order to save a life." On hand from the college were Assistant Chief James E. Bies, Lt. David L. Mauck, and Officers Dave Pletz and Norman L. Hager, all from Penn College Police; Ward W. Caldwell, special assistant to the president for student affairs; Elliott Strickland, special assistant for student affairs and student development; and Carl L. Shaner, health center director.
