House Committee Holds On-Campus Hearing on Natural Gas Issues

Mike Hanna Sr. and Rick Mirabito are joined by Diane Hain, executive director of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee The state House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee held a hearing on campus Thursday, focusing on leasing issues, revenue sharing and economic development related to the Marcellus Shale natural gas reserves. The hearing, held in the ACC Auditorium, was co-hosted by state Rep. Rick Mirabito, D-Williamsport, a member of the Penn College Board of Directors (at right in accompanying photo), and state Rep. Mike Hanna Sr., D-Lock Haven (left). It was the second such legislative hearing in as many months at Penn College, home to the Marcellus Shale Education & Training Center. State Sen. Gene Yaw, also a member of the college board, co-hosted the Senate Majority Policy Committee in April.
