The state House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee held a hearing on campus Thursday, focusing on leasing issues, revenue sharing and economic development related to the Marcellus Shale natural gas reserves. The hearing, held in the ACC Auditorium, was co-hosted by state Rep. Rick Mirabito, D-Williamsport, a member of the Penn College Board of Directors (at right in accompanying photo), and state Rep. Mike Hanna Sr., D-Lock Haven (left). It was the second such legislative hearing in as many months at Penn College, home to the
Marcellus Shale Education & Training Center. State Sen. Gene Yaw, also a member of the college board, co-hosted the Senate Majority Policy Committee in April.
