Career Services will join in Tuesday's observance of Pay Equity Day, supporting U.S. women and minorities who make, on average, 22 percent less than white males for an equal quality and quantity of work. Pay Equity Day takes place on a Tuesday to emphasize the fact that, while a white male works a five-day week for his pay, women and minorities must work until the following Tuesday to make the same amount of money. From 10 a.m.-noon Monday and Tuesday, there will be an information table in the LEC, near the Susquehanna Room. In addition, students and employees are encouraged to wear red Tuesday in support of equal pay for women and minorities. With the rallying cry of "Let's get even at work," Career Services staff will be on campus looking for those wearing red in support of the cause, and will award such individuals with a Career Services "Rock Star" T-shirt.
