Penn College Spring Commencement Set for May 15-16

Three commencement ceremonies will be held May 15-16 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport for the nearly 950 students who have petitioned to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology at the conclusion of the Spring 2009 semester.
On Friday, May 15, at 3 p.m., a ceremony will be offered for students from the schools of Industrial and Engineering Technologies, Integrated Studies, and Natural Resources Management.
On Saturday, May 16, at 10 a.m., a ceremony will be held for students in the schools of Construction and Design Technologies and Health Sciences. The final commencement ceremony will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on May 16 for students graduating from the schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Hospitality, and Transportation Technology.
The student speaker for the May 15 ceremony will be Monica B. Freeman, of Williamsport, who will be awarded a bachelor's degree in applied human services from the School of Integrated Studies.
Speaking at the 10 a.m. ceremony on May 16 will be Kelly A. Braun, of Hughesville, who will receive an associate degree in dental hygiene from the School of Health Sciences.
Brian D. Walton, of West Chester, who will receive a bachelor's degree in technology management from the School of Business and Computer Technologies, will be the student speaker at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony on May 16.
During the ceremonies, the college will bestow Distinguished Alumnus and Alumnus Achievement Awards. In addition, the Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award (the highest honor given to a Penn College faculty member) and Excellence in Teaching Awards will be presented.
Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour, assisted by Penn College Board of Directors Chairman Robert E. Dunham.
