The American Red Cross was "extremely pleased" with the turnout for Wednesday's Bloodmobile at the Bush Campus Center, where 169 pints were collected 96 percent of the 175-pint goal. Of note also is that 37 first-time donors reached out to help others. The Red Cross and Student Health Services thank all students, staff and faculty who participated as a donor or volunteer; special thanks to Food Services for providing pizzas for the event. Carl L. Shaner, Student Health Services director, said the Red Cross called Thursday morning to congratulate Penn College on a wonderful job with the blood drive; campus donations will save 507 lives. "Thank you and everyone there so much for the hard work and dedication to the drives," a Red Cross representative told Shaner.
