
Penn College was represented in Monday's events to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Damon Anderson, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lycoming County, spoke to students, faculty and staff about the civil-rights leader's life during a breakfast in the PDC Mountain Laurel Room. Following that event, which was sponsored by the college's Cultural Life Committee, several students and staff members joined the first Community Alliance Peace Walk and Service Celebration, including a number of students who lent their hands to helping the event run. In related programming, WPTC (88.1 FM) broadcast the Rev. Dr. King's Aug. 28, 1963, "I Have a Dream" speech twice on Monday.
