Forestry Club Members Among Individual Winners in Woodsman's Meet
Members of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Forestry Club were among the top finishers in a Woodsman's Meet held in conjunction with the college's Oct. 26 fall Open House at its campuses.
Students from The Pennsylvania State University narrowly won the competition which was held at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood with a final overall score of 39-37. A number of prospective students and other Open House visitors stayed to watch the closely matched contest.
Thecompetition was sponsored by the Forestry Club, the members of which primarily are Forest Technology majors, although students from other disciplines are encouraged to participate.
The day's events comprised archery, speed chop, crosscut sawing, ax throw, pulp toss, log roll, bolt split, pole fell and chain-saw competitions.
