ITS Issues Announcements, Reminders for February

General Reminders Have a computer, network or e-mail problem? Know who to call for help.
Students can dial ext. 7154, send an e-mail or visit the Student Help Desk located in the Madigan Library, Room 130 (near Bookmarks ). Student employees can assist you with everything from troubleshooting computer problems to resolving Internet connection issues. For more information, visit the Student Help Desk Web page .
Employees can contact the ITS Help Desk by dialing ext. 7329 or by sending an e-mail . Help Desk staff can assist with computer problems, equipment loans, software requests and more. For additional information, visit the ITS Help Desk Web page .
Let's keep those new Outlook mailboxes from becoming a collection spot for outdated information. Remember to delete any unneeded messages, especially those with file attachments, which consume a substantial amount of network file space. Don't forget to clean out your Sent Items folder and empty your Trash, too.
Also, remember to check your e-mail quarantine reports to check that no valid messages have been quarantined. Faculty should be aware that e-mail from students who use external e-mail accounts such as Yahoo or Hotmail could be inadvertently quarantined. Instructions for handling quarantined messages are available on the ITS Web site.
And, finally, a reminder to departments sending notices about files located on "F:publicDOCS": remember to point employees to "W:publicDOCS" instead.
