Nearly 750 Students Petition to Graduate at Penn College

More than 730 Pennsylvania College of Technology students have petitioned to graduate in two commencement ceremonies to be held Saturday, May 18, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.

A 10 a.m. ceremony will be held for students in the Schools of Construction and Design Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology. A 2:30 p.m. ceremony will be held for students in the Schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, and Industrial and Engineering Technologies.

The student speaker for the morning commencement ceremony will be Lee R. Gable, a Construction Management major from Kylertown.

The student speaker for the afternoon commencement ceremony will be Joni L. Bittner, a Nursing major from Beech Creek.

In addition to the presentation of diplomas, the Master Teacher Award (the highest level of recognition conferred to a Penn College faculty member) and the Excellence in Teaching Award will be bestowed. An Outstanding Alumnus Award will be presented in the morning ceremony, and an Alumna Achievement Award will be presented in the afternoon ceremony.

Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour and Penn College Board of Directors' Chairman Dr. Robert E. Dunham.
