Welcome to the on-campus living community at Pennsylvania College of Technology. As you embark upon this new adventure in your life, the following information will assist you in preparing for move-in day and the days and weeks that will mark the beginning of your time as a Penn College student.

Below you will find information about your room assignment and roommates, information about housing check-in, things to take care of prior to arrival, a list of what to bring and what not to bring, and policies and procedures related to living on campus. If you are living on campus, you are responsible for reading through and familiarizing yourself with this information.

Housing Assignment & Check-In

Students assigned to on-campus housing will be able to view their assignment information on the Student Information System (SIS) in late December or early January. Assignment information includes roommates(s) contact information, apartment/room number, building assignment, and mailing address. We suggest that you get in touch with your roommates prior to arriving on campus to discuss who is bringing shared items (television, cleaning supplies, etc.).

New Students can check-in on Saturday, January 7 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Dauphin Hall.  New students should go through the New student Connections program on Saturday, January 7 prior to moving in. 

Policies, Regulations & Guidelines

You are responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with Residence Life and other Penn College policies. The College implements and upholds these policies, regulations, and guidelines to protect the rights of individuals, while ensuring the safety, well-being, and integrity of the entire College community.

Immunization Requirements

All students who live in College housing are required to have received all immunizations per the College's Immunization Requirements and submit documentation prior to moving into on-campus housing, unless the College has granted the student a waiver for medical or religious reasons. Students who fail to satisfy the College's Immunization Requirements will not be permitted to reside in on-campus housing and will not be eligible for a refund of housing costs. Documentation should be submitted prior to arriving on campus for check-in to avoid lengthy delays during check-in.

Each student living area comes fully furnished. Click on the link below for a list of items you may want to consider bringing to supplement the furnishings that are provided in your living area. We suggest that you discuss with your roommates who will bring these items before arriving on campus.

Linen Service

If you are living on campus, your mattress will be 36" x 80" (slightly longer than most twin mattresses). As it is sometimes difficult to find fitted sheets to fit this mattress size, Penn College has contracted with Residence Hall Linens, which sells sheets that fit the on-campus mattresses. We provide this information to you as a convenience.

Mail & Package Services

Resident mail will be deliver to Mail Services in ATHS E138. Residents will receive a notification email when they receive mail. Letter mail will be held for 5 days. Mail can be picked up Monday- Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm in ATHS E138. Students must bring their student ID for letter pick up. If it is not picked up with that time frame, the mail will be returned to the sender as unclaimed. Outgoing mail can be dropped off to Mail Services in ATHS E138 or placed in the USPS Blue Box located at the South Entrance of the Campus Center.

  • BOX# ____(Use the student's unique BOX# as specified on the Student Information System.)
  • 206 College Ave.(Use for all on-campus residents.)

Do not:

  • use the One College Avenue address for student mail;
  • mail anything to your new address before August 1;
  • use nicknames, abbreviations, etc.

Sending Packages

  • Students can purchase stamps (cash only) and get shipping boxes.
  • Along with sending out packages through the Post Office; we can send out packages through UPS, if the package has the proper pre-paid label on it. We can send out Federal Express with a pre-paid label or credit card.

Receiving Packages

  • Packages being sent to you should use your mailing address in the format listed above.
  • Once a package has been received and is ready for pick up, you will be notified by email to your Penn College account. If you have NOT received an email from studentpackages@pct.edu, your item is not available for pick up.
  • Packages can be picked up Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in ATHS E138. You must bring your student ID for package pick up. Packages not picked up within two weeks of notification will be returned to sender as unclaimed.
  • Mail Services is not responsible for damages to packages that occurred by the carrier.

Penn College Police may be notified if:

  • a package raises suspicion;
  • a package requires the signature of someone 21 or older;
  • the box is stained, leaking, or has a powder residue;
  • the package comes from a munitions or firearms company.


In an effort to keep up with changing student needs, Penn College no longer offers a cable television package to on-campus residents.  This decision was made after surveying students' actual usage rates of, and satisfaction with, the previous television service.  The money budgeted for this service will be put toward further improvement of our internet service and Wi-Fi capabilities in the residence halls, ensuring that resident students will continue to have quality streaming capabilities through the device of their choosing.  In light of this, students who wish to bring a television will need a smart TV or will need to purchase an appropriate device to allow for streaming. 



Parking, Computers, Insurance

Other items to take care of before you arrive:

If you are bringing a vehicle, you must purchase a parking permit.

Learn the steps you can take now to protect your computer so that you can safely and securely connect to the Residential Campus Network (ResNet) when you arrive.

While your belongings may already be covered under another plan and there is no requirement to carry theft/fire insurance, you may want to consider one of the companies that offer this protection to college students. Two such companies are National Student Services Incorporated and Arthur J. Gallagher & Company.

NOTE: Students who fail to make payment and register by the College's established late registration date will forfeit their space in on-campus housing and their housing deposit.
