Sisino, of Cogan Station, whose Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award was announced last spring, was among those honored in a full-page advertisement in the publication Wednesday, Sept. 20. On Page R9 of that day's editions, Sisino was listed on a "Best in Class" honor roll congratulating all of the newspaper's 2006 award winners.
If you have a goal of becoming a licensed practical nurse, the practical nursing program at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro is issuing a "final call" for applications for the January 2007 class. Fifteen students will enroll in the yearlong program, and the course is filling quickly. The first day of class is scheduled for Jan. 8.
Students enrolled in majors offered by Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality will take their skills on the road, providing catering services at Hunt Country Vineyards' Gourmet Harvest Festival in Branchport, N.Y., on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. An aviation maintenance technology student from York County recently got the highlight of his year so far, winning a hot-air balloon ride at this month's Montoursville Rotary Club Fall Foliage Balloon Festival. Joshua M. Rauch, a Pennsylvania College of Technology junior from Mount Wolf, traveled aloft in "Up and Away," courtesy of Dick Young, a commercial balloon pilot for more than 30 years.
