Recently, Steven K. McCoy, coordinator of matriculation and retention for the School of Construction and Design Technologies, and Stacey C. Hampton, coordinator of matriculation and retention for the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies, participated in the Frederick ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) College Fair held at the Bechtel Corp. in Frederick, Md.
Robert P. Stenerson, a surveying technology major from State College, has been chosen as the Student Government Association's "Student of the Month" for October. Termed an "extremely responsible" member of his campus community, Stenerson is a student member of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors and president of the PSLS student chapter.
The New Choices/New Options program, a free career-development workshop at Pennsylvania College of Technology, is accepting registrations for a new session beginning Nov. 12. The workshop will meet Monday through Thursday each week from Nov. 12 to Dec. 5, excluding Thanksgiving Day, on Penn College's main campus in Williamsport.
When students start scheduling classes next week, they will notice Web scheduling will look and work differently. During the summer and fall semesters, Information Technology Services staff redesigned Web scheduling to be more user-friendly for students. This new design allows Web scheduling to work with any Web browser.
A land-development-engineering company based in Rockville, Md., has established a scholarship fund targeting civil engineering technology students at Pennsylvania College of Technology while continuing to offer a variety of support for students.

A research article by Jeremiah C. Gee, assessment coordinator in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Integrated Studies, was published in the September/October 2007 issue of American Jails magazine, the official publication of the American Jail Association.
Abdul B. Pathan, professor of economics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently presented a paper at the 30th annual meeting of the Northeastern Association of Business, Economics and Technology. The paper, "Use of Real World Events to Teach Principles of Economics," will be published in the conference proceedings. The event was held Oct. 25-26 in State College.
For the fourth straight season, Pennsylvania College of Technology's women's volleyball team is playoff-bound and has a legitimate shot at winning a conference championship. The Lady Wildcats, under eighth-year coach Bambi Hawkins, completed their regular season with a 16-6 overall record and were 14- 2 in Penn State University Athletic Conference matches.
Two of Williamsport's three mayoral candidates in next Tuesday's election met with Penn College students Tuesday night during a forum in Penn's Inn. Student Government Association President Andrew S. Wisner moderated the discussion between Democratic nominee William McConnell and Republican write-in candidate Thomas P. O'Connor, who also took questions from the audience.
