"Night of 1,000 Games Part 2" took place Wednesday at Rose Street Commons, where more than 200 students played Plinko and took part in an obstacle course to try to win an LCD TV. To qualify, participants had to throw a ringer in horseshoes, get a washer in the box and toss a ping-pong ball into a cup.

About 350 people attended the fifth annual Fall FIESTA (Friends, Involvement, Employment and Socializing on a Tuesday Afternoon) from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on the ATHS mall. Sixty-five vendors representing campus organizations and offices offering involvement and employment opportunities, community agencies and churches were on hand to enlighten participants.

Eugene M. McAvoy has been named dean of academic services and first year programs at Pennsylvania College of Technology. McAvoy, who had served as assistant dean of integrated studies-programs for a year, will be succeeded in that position by Joanna K. Pruden.

About 40 students took part in two sun-kissed kayaking sessions sponsored by the Student Activities Office on Saturday. For just $10 each, participants got equipment and instruction from Country Ski and Sport, and a lunch prepared by Dining Services. Students entered Loyalsock Creek at Mill Street in Montoursville and paddled to the Susquehanna River; sessions were held at 10 a.m.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and Susquehanna Health recently entered a three-year clinical affiliation agreement. The agreement provides for use of the health system's radiology departments for clinical instruction for students enrolled in the college's associate-degree radiography major.

Students in Geoffrey M. Campbell's 300-level Passive Design studio class were asked to fashion a parade costume that would be representative of Penn College's building science and sustainable design major. They were given the assignment last Monday and the costumes were due Wednesday.

The dog days of summer took on a new meeting at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Aug. 18, when a unique icebreaker united first-year students with employees and their dogs. Held on the Rose Street Commons, "Hot Dog, You're Here!" provided the opportunity for faculty and staff to welcome and engage new students over the common ground of pet ownership, conversation and free food.
