Chip D. Baumgardner, associate professor of business administration/management at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently presented a paper to the International Atlantic Economic Conference. Baumgardner’s paper was titled “Elements of Effective Cooperative Learning for the Economics and Business Classes.” The conference was held Oct.

Free tasting samples, made with ingredients available on-site, will be cooked and served at the Williamsport Growers Market on Oct. 26 by students in culinary arts and hospitality management majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The students are enrolled in a Catering course taught by Chef Michael J. Ditchfield, instructor of hospitality management/culinary arts.

The family and friends of Jacob D. Parkes have established a scholarship to honor the Pennsylvania College of Technology student who died a year ago in an automobile accident. At the time of his death, Parkes, 21, of Lewisburg, was a senior majoring in business at Penn College.

A paper by a member of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s business administration faculty was accepted for publication in “Selected Papers From the 24th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning.” Gerald D. “Chip” Baumgardner, associate professor of business administration, was among more than 150 faculty presenters at the conference, held in April in Jacksonville, Fla.

Wine Spectator magazine recently released its annual Restaurant Wine List Awards program, again naming Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Le Jeune Chef Restaurant among the “Best of Award of Excellence” recipients. The restaurant is one of 850 worldwide to earn the magazine’s second-tier “Best of” award.

A new scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology for students enrolled in accounting and business majors has been established by a community bank based in Lycoming County. The Woodlands Bank Scholarship is building toward endowment and will generate initial annual awards of $1,000 once fully endowed.
