As you tune in the Super Bowl on Sunday to watch the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs (or to catch some of the best commercials of the year), enjoy this fun fact: A former Eagles owner once took classes at a Pennsylvania College of Technology forerunner, according to news accounts at the time. Jerry Wolman, who died in 2013 at age 86, owned the Eagles from 1963-69.
Wednesday was "Groff Day" at Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center, where about 50 diesel technology students benefited from three learning sessions – along with enjoying a pizza lunch and a slew of giveaways. The day was made possible by Groff Tractor & Equipment, which sent four employees to the Allenwood-area campus to meet with students in advance of this month's Career Fair.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Chef Charles R. Niedermyer recently presented two sessions for retail confectioners at the Philadelphia Candy Expo & Seminar Conference. Penn College baking & pastry arts students M.J. Harbron, of Pottstown, and Amber R. Harris, of Sciota, also participated, helping with setup and execution of each of the event’s seminars.

First Citizens Community Bank has donated $5,000 to Pennsylvania College of Technology to benefit a program enabling high school students to take courses for college credit at no cost. The Penn College Foundation is approved as an Educational Improvement Organization under the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program administered by the state Department of Community & Economic Development.
